Conococheague beats Caroline in Md. Juniors

YOUTH BASEBALL

BERLIN, Md. — Conococheague stayed alive in the Maryland Junior League State Tournament on Tuesday with a 16-6 victory over Caroline in the losers’ bracket.

Conococheague, after a win over Laurel, suffered an 18-5 loss to Berlin that knocked the team into the losers’ bracket.

On Monday, Conococheague defeated St. Marys 9-2 to set up Tuesday’s game.

Conococheague was scheduled to play at 5 p.m. today against the loser of the Tuesday night’s Berlin-Chesapeake winners’ bracket game.

James Briscoe of Hagerstown scored his first hole-in-one on Tuesday at Yingling’s Golf Center. He recorded the ace on the 115-yard 6th hole using a sand wedge. His son, James Briscoe Jr., witnessed the shot.
