1. Life as a canawler
Claudia Paycheff portrays the character of Mary Bender of Sharpsburg, who worked as a canawler on the C&O Canal in 1915. Presentations between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Sunday, Aug. 5. Ferry Hill Place, Md. 34, near Sharpsburg, on the Maryland side of the Shepherdstown bridge. Free. 2. Staff Infection

3. Tea and treats
Friends of The Doleman Black Heritage Museum will host a chocolate garden tea fundraiser for the museum.
