YOUTH BASEBALL

Nationals finish 2-4 at CABA 17U World Series

EUCLID, Ohio — The Williamsport Nationals won their final game of pool play to finish 2-4 at the Continental Amateur Baseball Association World Series.

Williamsport finished with a 13-8 victory over the Cincinnati Blackhawks on Sunday. Luke Harsh had three hits, including two doubles, and four RBIs for the Nationals in the win, while Sinjin Shoop had three hits, including a double, and an RBI, Tim Davidson had three hits, including a double, and Andrew Fiery had three RBIs.

Earlier Sunday, Williamsport lost 11-3 to the Miami Red, after falling 10-2 to the Lally Lookouts, of Cleveland, on Saturday night.

National: Brandon Longerbeam, Carter Stotelmyer, Daniel Luna, Isaiah Neal, Mikey Witmer, Isaac Herbert, James Kershner 2 hits each.

BRIEF

Tri-State Thunder softball tryouts

The Tri-State Thunder are set to hold tryouts next month at Greencastle-Antrim High School.

Tryouts for the 10U, 12U and 14U teams will be held Aug. 12 from 2-4 p.m., Aug. 14 from 6-8 p.m. and Aug. 19 from 5-7 p.m. Tryouts for the 16U and 18U Gold teams will be held Aug. 12 from 5-7 p.m., Aug. 15 from 6-8 p.m. and Aug. 19 from 2-4 p.m.
