Rosie M. Knable, 73, of Hancock, Md., died Sunday, July 22, 2012, at the home of her son in Hancock.

Born Aug. 27, 1938, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Viola Myers Weller, and the widow of Joe Knable, who died May 29, 2004.

She was a homemaker.

She had been employed with the Webster B. Harrison Post 26 American Legion in Hancock as a cook for 18 years, and was a member of the Post 26 Ladies Auxiliary.

She was a member of Hancock Church of God.

She is survived by one daughter, Debra Cunningham and husband, Tom, of Hedgesville, W.Va.; two sons, Vernon A. Knable and wife, Susan, and Billy J. Knable Sr. and wife, Tracey, all of Hancock; one sister, Mary Jane Keefer of Indian Springs, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, John P. Shives and Calvin Myers.

A service will be held Thursday, July 26, at 11 a.m. at Hancock Church of God. The Rev. Terry Goodwin will officiate. Burial will be in Stone Bridge Cemetery, Hancock.

The family will receive friends at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday.

The family requests that to help defray funeral expenses, contributions be made to Grove Funeral Home, P.A., 141 W. Main St., Hancock, MD 21750-0368.
