MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Police said they saw a man climbing out of a house with stolen items wrapped in a sheet when they went to Aero Street Sunday afternoon to serve warrants, according to the Martinsburg Police Department.

When police arrived at the scene at about 1 p.m., they saw Stephanie Laing standing outside.

As officers were getting ready to check the home at 201 Aero St., which is near Hack Wilson Way, Jack McFarlan was observed climbing out of a window of a home at 115 Aero St., police said.

Police said McFarlan kicked in the front door of the house while people were sleeping upstairs.
