Hagerstown police are looking for a Fairplay man who allegedly stabbed another man in the neck after a party Friday night, according to a Hagerstown Police Department news release.

Robert Wayne Brechbill, 25, of 17920 Lappans Road is wanted on charges of second-degree attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, police said.

Police were dispatched to 1344 Jay Drive for a report of a male who had been stabbed at 3:43 a.m.

Officers learned that several people had been at the residence Friday night for a party. Brechbill was at the party, but left after he had an argument with another guest, police said.

When he left, he made a statement that he would “be back to shoot people,” police said.

Brechbill later returned and stabbed a man in the neck with a knife, and then fled the scene, police said.

The man who was stabbed was taken to Meritus Medical Center for treatment.

Brechbill still was at large as of Saturday afternoon, police said.
