MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Police are looking for a man who robbed the Martinsburg Comfort Inn Tuesday night.

The white male suspect has a slender build, receding hairline, appeared to be in his late 30s or early 40s and is about 5 feet 7 inches tall, West Virginia State Police Sgt. J.D. Burkhart said in a news release.

At the time of the robbery, the suspect had a small amount of facial hair on his chin and jawline and was wearing a white, zip-up hoodie shirt and glasses.

State Police Trooper C.S. Maynard responded to the hotel at 1872 Edwin Miller Blvd. to investigate the robbery about 11:30 p.m., according to the news release.

A worker there told police that a white male entered the hotel lobby, demanded money from the clerk, who complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash, troopers said.

The suspect then fled on foot, appearing to run toward Edwin Miller Boulevard, troopers said.

A search of the area by troopers was unsuccessful, troopers said.

Anyone with information about the robbery may call West Virginia State Police at 304-267-0001.
