Students and spouses of students of South Hagerstown High School Class of 1961 are invited to lunch at Next Dimensions restaurant on Old National Pike in Hagerstown.

The reunion lunch is planned Wednesday, July 25, starting at 11 a.m.

All students from the Class of 1961 and their spouses are invited.

Back-to-school event planned at Valley Mall

Aback-to-schoolchildren’s fair will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Valley Mall.

Valley Mall officials and area businesses will be on hand to showcase an array of after-school programs, education support services, healthy lifestyle activities and other helpful resources for students in the community.

Summer concert series 

The Music by the Lake summer concert series continues Saturday with Stoney Creek bluegrass band playing at the Hagerstown City Park band shell, starting at 7 p.m.

The band features guitarist Ed Barney, banjo player Darrell Sanders and Libby Files, bass player. 

The concert on July 28 features Bill Emerson and Sweet Drive with three vocalists who each contribute lead and harmony.

The Annapolis Bluegrass Coalition will perform contemporary bluegrass music at the final concert on Aug. 4.

The concerts are sponsored by the City of Hagerstown, Washington County Arts Council and Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

You can hear the Hagerstown Municipal Band for free every Sunday at the band shell at 7:30 p.m. until Aug. 26.
