Product recalls: Dog food, bath fans

Nature’s Variety dog food

Nature’s Variety recently initiated a voluntary recall of its Prairie Beef Meal & Barley Medley Kibble for Dogs due to an off-odor smell that might develop over time. This product is not contaminated in any way, but some products are not remaining fresh for the shelf life of the product.

The products impacted are:

  •  UPC No. 7 69949 60420 4 — Prairie Beef Meal & Barley Medley Kibble for Dogs, 5 pounds
  •  UPC No. 7 69949 60425 9 — Prairie Beef Meal & Barley Medley Kibble for Dogs, 15 pounds
  •  UPC No. 7 69949 60430 3 — Prairie Beef Meal & Barley Medley Kibble for Dogs, 30 pounds
  •  UPC No. 7 69949 60432 7 — Prairie Beef Meal & Barley Medley Kibble for Dogs, 3-ounce sample

Consumers who have purchased one of the above products can obtain a full refund or exchange it for a different variety by either returning the product in its original packaging or bringing a proof of purchase back to the retailer.

Harbor Breeze bath fans

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, recently announced a voluntary recall of the following product:

Name of product: Harbor Breeze bath fans with heater and lLight

Manufacturer: Delta Electronics (Dongguan) Co. Ltd. of China

Hazard: The fan’s heater blades can fail to rotate properly, causing the fan to overheat and posing a fire hazard.

Description: Model number 7109-01-L, Lowe’s item number 194492 and UPC code 820633985358 are printed on the fan’s packaging. A date code beginning with either 0, 11, 12 or 13 is printed on the fan’s housing, which indicates the fan was manufactured between August 2010 and March 2011.

Sold exclusively at: Lowe’s stores nationwide and at from September 2010 through March 2012 for about $90.
