Linda Lou Moreland, 71, of Hagerstown, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2012, at her residence.

Born Jan. 27, 1941, in Mount Storm, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John Henry Hanlin and Mae (Kitzmiller) Hanlin. She also was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Dale Moreland.

Mrs. Moreland was a 1958 graduate of Richard Montgomery High School. She retired from Montgomery County Public Schools, where she worked in the building services department for 25 years. She was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church of Christ, Cumberland YMCA, participant at the Riverside Recreation Center, and the Ladies Guild at the church.

She is survived by her husband, Alex Lipske; two daughters, Melinda L. Anastasi and husband Anthony, Wheaton, Md., and Belinda S. Burriss and husband Alfred, Bunker Hill, W.Va.; two sons, Michael W. Moreland and wife Peggy, Silver Spring, Md., and Richard D. Moreland Jr. and wife Tammie, Myersville, Md.; two sisters, Mabel L. Henley and husband William, New Market, Md., and Bonnie K. Talbot and husband Kevin, Oveido, Fla.; two brothers, Roy D. Hanlin and wife Carol, Cresaptown, Md., and Charles F. Hanlin and wife Judy, Mount Airy, Md.; eight grandchildren, Kevin Moreland, Keith Moreland, Owen Moreland, Evan Moreland, Chad Moreland, Marc Anastasi, Matthew Anastasi and Ryan Burriss; and five great-grandchildren, Katelyn Moreland, Kohl Moreland, Karson Moreland, Issayah Fostion and Lakin Breeden.

At her request, her body will be cremated.

A private service will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Mount Storm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
