MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Berkeley County government offices and the Blue Ridge Community and Technical College in the Dunn Building at 400 W. Stephen St. in Martinsburg closed at 1 p.m. Monday due to excessive heat, according to news releases.

"Due to a malfunctioning air conditioning system, the interior temperatures of the building have reached unacceptable high temperatures," a news release from county government said.

Officials expect the county offices to reopen Tuesday "at least for the morning hours," the release said.

The Mountain State University College Advising Fair at the Dunn Building, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, is being held as scheduled, according to a news release from Blue Ridge CTC.
