Hagerstown Kiwanis golf outing set for Friday, Aug. 3, at Beaver Creek

The Hagerstown Kiwanis will hold its annual Kiwanis Classic Golf Tournament Friday, Aug. 3, starting at 11:30 a.m. at Beaver Creek Country Club.

The tournament is an 18-hole scramble format for father/mother, son/daughter.

The event costs $150 per team, which includes greens fees, cart, meal and two beverages. The buffet dinner will start at 4:30 p.m.

Two-person teams can consist of any combination (parent, child, grandparent, in-law, or “step” relationship, male or female).  If not related, golfers can “adopt” a teammate. If adopting, golfers must have at least 20 years difference in age.

Play is from the tee normally used for established handicap or average score.  Otherwise, men ages 16 and older play from the white tees, men ages 65 and older play from the gold tees, and women and boys (15 and younger) play from the red tees.

The tournament will be flighted by handicap/average score.

Prizes will be awarded by place of finish in each of four flights.

The course is at 9535 Mapleville Road.

Proceeds will benefit local youth programs sponsored by Kiwanis.
