Peggy Alverta Eyler, 84, of Falling Waters, W.Va., died Friday, July 13, 2012, at her home.

Born Jan. 17, 1928, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Clair Henry and Dorothy Lumn Troupe.

She was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren. She was president of the Women's Fellowship, a member of the Mary Martha Circle and very active in many other church activities.

She was a volunteer at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, City Hospital for 30 years and Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home for 40 years as president of the auxiliary; and a key person at Fahrney-Keedy for 12 years.

She is survived by her husband, George C. Eyler; one daughter, Yvonne Eyler Panyon and her husband, Peter, of Owings Mills, Md.; one sister, Tonya Sapre of Baltimore, Md.; and two brothers, William Cauffman of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Larry Troupe of Richmond, Va.

A memorial service will be Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Hagerstown Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Edward L. Poling will officiate. Private graveside services will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, 15 S. Mulberry St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
