Larry W. Guessford, 64, of York, Pa., passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at his home from anaplastic thyroid cancer.
Born Sept. 6, 1947, he was the son of the late Paul L. Guessford and Bertha V. Guessford-Lowman.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Clarence "Red" Lowman.
He was employed as a delivery driver by Capital Tristate Electrical Supply in York. He formerly worked at Weaver's Amoco in Hagerstown, Md.
He is survived by his wife, Denise (Deihl) Guessford, and their minor children, Zachary and Kaylee; daughter, Lisa Nichols, and sons, Wayne Guessford and Todd Guessford, all of Hagerstown; brother, Robert Guessford of Purcell, Okla.; brother, Donald Guessford, and sister, Brenda Zeger, both of Hagerstown; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sister, Sandra K Guessford; and daughter, Barbara Ann Guessford.
Per his request, his body was donated to scientific research.
There will be a Celebration of Life service on Sunday, July 22, 2012, at Zion's View, 140 Coppenhaffer Road, York. Feel free to join the family between the hours of 1 and 4 p.m.
