Pa. State Police investigate vandalism

Pennsylvania State Police said they were investigating several acts of vandalism that were reported early Thursday in Franklin County.

The criminal activity is believed to have occurred between 4 and 5 a.m. on Big Dipper Lane, and on Constellation, Galaxy and Sundown drives in Greene Township, according to a state police news release.

Troopers said tires were slashed and someone spray-painted a house, cars and garage doors. In addition, flowers were ripped out and lawn furniture was scattered.

Man accidentally shoots himself in leg

A 30-year-old man was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening after he accidentally shot himself in the leg early Thursday in Peters Township, according to a state police news release.

The incident was reported at 2:59 a.m. at 3599 Lemar Road, where the man shot himself in the lower leg with a .32-caliber pistol, according to a state police news release.

Troopers said the man, whose name was not released, was taken by St. Thomas Fire/EMS to Chambersburg Hospital.
