Josephine Lorretta Ardinger, 86, of Boonsboro, Md., passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Fahrney-Keedy Nursing Home, Boonsboro.

Born Dec. 25, 1925, in Downsville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Resley Ellsworth and Mary Elizabeth Williams Speaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Charles Ardinger Sr., in 1998.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church, Williamsport, Md.

Survivors include daughter, Carolyn S. Smith and her husband, John, of Smithsburg, Md.; daughter, Dolly E. Jones and her husband, Hank, of Hagerstown, Md.; daughter, Barbara A. Liller of St. James, Md.; daughter, Miriam Shatzer and her husband, Bob, of Hagerstown; son, Edward C. Ardinger Jr. and his wife, Sue, of Boonsboro; son, Elmer L. Ardinger and his friend, Wendy, of Pennsylvania; sister, Eleanor Frazee of Halfway, Md.; sister, Ruby Hornbaker of Clear Spring, Md.; sister, Lorraine Hornbaker of Clear Spring; sister, Helen Milburn of Keedysville, Md.; sister, Nancy Miller of Falling Waters, W.Va.; brother, Donald Speaker of Mississippi; brother, Wilbur Speaker of North Dakota; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one son, Richard Ardinger; one great-granddaughter, Natasha; one son-in-law, Richard Liller; three sisters; and four brothers.

The family will receive friends at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Sunday, July 15, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 1 p.m. Sunday for the convenience of family and friends.

Graveside services will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport, Monday, July 16, 2012, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. James E. Swecker officiating.
