Mail Call - July 10

July 10, 2012

“I recently watched two episodes of Bristol Palin’s new reality show. The whole show, all she does is whine about being a single mom, and how the father doesn’t participate in her baby’s life — while she lives in mansions or big apartments or travels back and forth from California to Alaska. She has no idea what a real single mom goes through, and she doesn’t even know what homeless people look like. This is an atrocity, this show. It really shows the inside of how the Palins really are. They constantly whine about being famous, when they bring it on themselves.”

“U.S. Sen. Barbara Mikulski touts that Obamacare has now broken the stranglehold that evil insurance companies have on us. Barbara, in my lifetime I have had to deal with insurance companies, various government agencies, and, in particular, the IRS. I would rather deal with the insurance companies any day.”

“Is anyone else sick to death of partisan politics? It seems to me, with the health care reform law, which has now been upheld by our Supreme Court, it is the perfect time for both parties to work together. It is, after all, a law passed by a Democratic president, but fashioned largely after the law in Massachusetts, passed by a Republican governor who is now running for the office of president. It is certainly the right combination of ideas on which true leaders can work together. Let’s call it what it is, as Gov. Jindal did, ‘Obamneycare.’ I’m tired of the lines in the sand and the childish mentality of ‘If he’s for it, I’m against it’ on every issue. It’s time to work together to implement the law.”

“In response to the person in Sharpsburg who says animals should be called humans, and vice versa: Off the top of my head, just a short list of animals that will eat their young: Lions, various bird species, wolf spiders, various fish species, polar bears, squirrels, hamsters, wild dogs, Monarch butterflies, some baboon species, etc. It is called filial cannibalism. A science book might be a help to you.”
