Thomas Clifton Shockey, 87, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Monday, July 9, 2012, at Winchester Medical Center.

He was the son of the late James Walter Shockey Sr. and Margaret Leary Shockey.

He was born in Morgan County on July 8, 1925.

He was retired from U.S. Silica, Quality Control Laboratory.

He was a graduate of West Virginia University and attended Potomac State College. He was a member of Trinity-Asbury United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; and a member of Alderton Dawson American Legion Post 60 and DeFord Masonic Lodge No. 88 A.F. & A.M. Scottish Rite of Free Masonry 32 of Martinsburg.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann Nelan Shockey, Oct. 8, 2010; and a brother, Walter Shockey Jr.

He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia A. Marra of Bensalem, Pa.; son, Bryan T. Shockey of Jefferson, Md.; brother, Frank Shockey of Shrewsbury, Pa.; three grandchildren, Sara Robertson, Emma Robertson and Jared Shockey; two stepgrandchildren, Zachary and Chelsea Williams; two nieces; and one nephew.

Friends will be received Friday at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 14, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Greenway Cemetery, Berkeley Springs. Military graveside rites by Tri-State Honor Guard. Graveside service by DeFord Masonic Lodge.
