Church festival last of the season

Salem Reformed Church will hold the last festival of the season Wednesday night, beginning at 5 p.m. in its family life center.

Homemade chicken corn, chicken noodle and bean soups, country ham sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches, steamers and hot dogs, salads, cakes and pies will be for sale.

The church is on Salem Church Road, off Cearfoss Pike in Hagerstown.

Senior citizens meeting is Thursday

The West End Senior Citizens Club will hold its July luncheon meeting Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Western Sizzlin’  steak house on York Road in Halfway.

North Hagerstown Lions Club names officers

Susan Timmons, past district governor of the Lions Club, was in Hagerstown on June 21 to install the North Hagerstown Lions officers for 2012-13.

The new officers are: president, Jane Barvir; first vice president, Sharon Dick; second vice president, Michael Eckstine; treasurer, Gail Lane; and secretary, Jodi Ramsey.

Past District Gov. and outgoing President Bill Bulla received a standing ovation in recognition of his decades of service to the international Lions and the community.
The club meets at 6:30 p.m. the first and third Thursday of each month at Always Ron’s restaurant on Burhans Boulevard in Hagerstown.
