1.  Painted by the Guild

"Form, Function and Fantasy," an art show and sale by Potomac River Artists Guild, will open Friday, July 13 at War Memorial Building, corner of German and Princess streets, downtown Shepherdstown, W.Va.  Meet the artists reception, 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 14. Exhibit continues through Sunday, July 15. Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Free admission. Go to www.potomacriverartistsguild.org.



2. Mini 'Thoroughly Modern Millie'

"Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr." will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday, July 13, and Saturday, July 14; 2 p.m. Sunday, July 15. Musselman High School auditorium, 126 Excellence Way, Inwood, W.Va. Pictured are students rehearsing a number for the show.  "Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr." tells the story of young Millie Dillmount, who has moved to New York City in 1922 in search of a new life for herself. $8; $5, students; free for Berkeley County Schools staff and faculty. 3. History lesson

Members of the recreated Joshua Beall's Company, fort staff and volunteers will garrison the fort. Musket and artillery firing presentations, laundry and hearth-cooking demonstrations, a uniform and clothing talk, a ranging party and children's military drills. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 14, and Sunday, July 15. 4. It's story time

Story Time Adventures will be at 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays July 12 through Aug. 9, at Valley Mall's Food Court, 17301 Valley Mall Road, Halfway.Stories, songs, crafts and more. 



5. Christians who rock

Hometown Heroes and Lights on the Atlantic will perform at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 13, at Faith Christian Fellowship, 16726 Lappans Road, Williamsport. $6. Proceeds will help the Grace Academy Missions Team go to Korea. Call 304-886-4936.
