Cole receives doctorate in pharmacy from WVU

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A Washington County resident was awarded a Doctor of Pharmacy from the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy.

Kellyn Cole of Williamsport is a member of the WVU School of Pharmacy Class of 2012.

Cole is the daughter of Pamela and David Cole Jr.

She is a graduate of Williamsport High School.

She completed her prepharmacy course work at Shepherd University. While studying at the WVU School of Pharmacy, Cole was a member of the WVU chapter of the American Society of Health-system Pharmacists–Student Society of Health-system Pharmacists and the Alpha Eta chapter of the Phi Lambda Sigma national pharmacy leadership society.

She served as secretary and president of the Beta Eta chapter of the Kappa Psi co-educational pharmaceutical fraternity and community awareness co-chairwoman of the WVU chapter of the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists.

Cole was the recipient of many scholarships and awards, including the WVU Alumni Association Loyalty Permanent Endowment Scholarship, the Rosemary Thomas Scholarship and the WVU School of Pharmacy Loyalty Scholarship.

She was also the recipient of the United Methodist Church, Baltimore-Washington Conference, Scholarship and the Shepherd University Chemistry Department Academic Waiver Award.

Cole also achieved WVU dean’s list honors, which recognizes students who achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher. She also participated in the WVU Health Sciences Center-Eastern Division Research Day and received the Outstanding Poster Presentation Award.

Cole graduated cum laude.
