SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — Tracy Seffers, Shepherd University’s registrar, has been selected for the Higher Education Resource Services, or HERS, Institute that will meet throughout the 2012-13 academic year at Wellesley College in Massachusetts.

HERS, an educational nonprofit, provides leadership and management development for women in higher-education administration around the world. Since 1972, HERS has served the higher-education community, preparing more than 4,300 women faculty members and administrators for leadership roles.

Four weekend sessions will be held in October, November, February and March, and will provide the same curriculum, networking opportunities and work-applicable experience as the traditional summer institutes offered in past years.

Seffers received her bachelor’s degree in English from Arkansas College, now Lyon College, and received her master’s degree in English from The College of William and Mary in Virginia. She worked as the academic coordinator for the TRIO (Upward Bound) program at Lyon College.

Prior to coming to Shepherd in 2003, she worked at George Mason University, first as an assistant registrar at the Fairfax campus, then as enrollment services manager at the Prince William campus.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Levi L. Crouse, human resource officer at F&M Trust, recently received a certificate of completion from the Human Resource Management School presented by the Graduate School of Banking at theUniversity of Wisconsin-Madison.

The Human Resource Management School, in its 12th year, provides the foundation for new or veteran human-resources professionals to tie together important issues in human-resource management with a bottom-line understanding of banking.

FREDERICK, Md. — Mark Marini has been appointed as a mortgage loan consultant at Millennium Financial Group Inc., doing business as Mlend, a mid-Atlantic retail mortgage lender.

Marini will be responsible for production growth in the Frederick and Montgomery County markets in Maryland.

He joins Mlend with more than six years of experience in the mortgage lending industry. He started his career in relationship banking with Bank of America, moved to mortgage operations with PNC Mortgage and then moved into the sales area. His sales experience includes production and management positions within the financial-service industry.
