Elected officials, and business and community leaders joined with the staff and management of the Best Western Grand Venice Hotel on June 13 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the hotel’s newly constructed swimming pool, Jacuzzi and outdoor reception area.

The hotel, at 431 Dual Highway in Hagerstown, has 86 newly remodeled rooms, a fitness center, business services, and is the closest hotel to downtown Hagerstown. It offers meeting space for up to 450 people.

Filming was done at the hotel for the newly released “Lovely Molly.” The movie was a project by Haxan Films, and directed and produced by the team that gained fame for “The Blair Witch Project.”

Demolition of the former motel part of the property is planned for September.
