Donations still needed for trip to Dorney Park

Each summer, the community has helped send local youths on the annual For Our Kids’ Sake bus trip to a theme park, so don’t let this year be any different.

Donations are still needed to continue this wonderful activity, and the directors of the program hope they can count on the community’s support again with this year’s trip to Dorney Park in Allentown, Pa.

If you would like to help, call Clara Broadus  at 301-739-2557, or you can make a deposit directly at any Columbia Bank-Hagerstown Trust Division branch. The account name is For Our Kids’ Sake and the account number is 141518.

Happy retirement

After 36 years of service and receiving a certificate of retirement from the U.S. Army, Moses Norris Jr. can finally spend some quality time with his wife, Carolyn Norris.

Moses Norris is also retiring from 30 years of service to the city and Wheaton Park.

Carolyn Norris said Moses is happy as a hawk, and she is looking forward to spending time traveling to places such as Ocean City, Md., and other destinations. She said she hopes she can talk him into going on a cruise.

Carolyn said she is not sure if she will be able to do that, but in the meantime, he will have plenty of time to enjoy his next love, spending time with his grandkids.

This wish is for you from your wife, Mr. Norris: “Happy retirement, for all of your dedicated years to others. I am happy for you and look forward to our time together!”
