Time is flying and this week brings the First Friday in July.
Trinity Lutheran, at 64 S. Main St., invites the community to a First Friday road trip as the group travels to Mar Lu Ridge Camp in Jefferson, Md., for a concert by Christian duo Lost and Found.
A carpool will leave Trinity at 5:15 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a light picnic meal. The concert is free, but a freewill offering will be accepted.

At the library this week, a rug-hooking session will take place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. All are welcome.

Vacation Bible school
Boonsboro Bible Church will host “Backstage with the Bible — A Vacation Bible School Experience” from July 8 to 13, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The church is at 6741 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.
Activities include crafts, games, snacks, Bible lessons, karaoke and a concert. Those attending each night will be entered in a prize drawing; winners will be announced Friday. Friday night is also family fun night, and parents are encouraged to attend.

On July 11, Turn the Page Bookstore invites the community to participate in a discussion of “The Art of Racing in the Rain” by Garth Stein. The bookstore is at 18 N. Main St. in Boonsboro.

Church yard sale
Trinity Lutheran Church will host a yard sale Friday, July 13 and Saturday, July 14, at the church.
Tables can be purchased for $10. Donations of clean, usable items are also being accepted. The sale will begin at 8 a.m. each day.
Proceeds will benefit Captive Free Ministries.
Trinity member Jacob Rockwell will be spending a year with the ministry, visiting churches, camps, schools and nursing homes in regions across the U.S.

Band to perform
The Boonsboro Park Board will present the U.S. Navy Country Current Band for a free concert Saturday, July 14, at 7 p.m. at Shafer Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and a soft drink.
Class of 1982
The Boonsboro High School Class of 1982 will hold a bonanza Saturday, July 14, at Boonsboro American Legion.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. Tickets cost $40 each (couples or singles). Every 20th ticket will receive $40; the last ticket drawn will receive $500. There will also be raffles, 50/50 and auctions. Tickets can be purchased from Gina Smith at 301-432-4677 or Lori Shumaker Smith at 301-432-2105.
