How did you get into your business and what motivated you to start it? Nichols has wanted to own her own hair studio for a long time. Her cousin and owner of L&M Modeling, Melissa Needy, invited her to become involved in image consulting for the fashion and entertainment industries. That relit her fire to open a salon, and incorporate image consulting and services. Her mother, her biggest supporter, died in August 2011. She always wanted Nichols to realize her dream. Her mother’s love of people and consideration of others inspired Nichols to use the business to give back to the community and people who support it, through involvement in local charities and organizations. Her cousin, Pittenger, shared her vision and quickly became her partner and a vital part of Plush. It’s a “family affair.”

Previous business experience: Nichols has been in the cosmetology field for more than 12 years, working as a licensed hairstylist and salon manager. Pittenger has worked for many years in the medical field and has had a successful jewelry consulting business.
