Boonsboro High Class of 1948 celebrates its 64th reunion

The Boonsboro High School Class of 1948 celebrated its 64th reunion on June 13 at Western Sizzlin’ Steakhouse in Halfway.

Class members, along with spouses and friends, enjoyed a buffet meal and fellowship.

Lucille Murray, reunion chairwoman, gave an update on class members who could not attend.

A memorial service was conducted for the 29 deceased class members. The names were read by Peggy Beeler, and a prayer was recited by the Rev. Ralph Jamison, a class member.

Gerald Holmes gave an update on the Boonsboro High School Class of 1948 Memorial Award. The award was established in 1990 in memory of the deceased class members.

The award is presented annually to an outstanding senior at Boonsboro High School, and this year’s award was presented to Rachael Wagaman.

The reunion concluded with the awarding of the door prizes. Maxine Palmer, a class member, donated the door prizes to all members. Geraldine Crilly was recognized for making the favors for each place setting.

Gerald Holmes thanked the reunion committee. He gave special thanks to Lucille Murray, Maxine Palmer and Geraldine Crilly.
