Saturday morning I-81 accident backs up traffic, no injuries

June 30, 2012

Traffic was backed up on Interstate 81 near the Maryland-West Virginia state line after a tractor-trailer crashed Saturday at about 9:47 a.m. just south of the Potomac River bridge, a Berkeley County Emergency Services supervisor said.

The supervisor said the accident, which occurred in the southbound lanes, caused traffic to back up into Maryland. Authorities detoured traffic onto U.S. 11, the supervisor said.

No one was injured in the accident. The scene was cleared at 2:33 p.m.
