ELON,N.C. — Emily M. Steiner, daughter of Patrick and Dora Steiner of Boonsboro,  was named to the President’s List for the spring semester at Elon University.



LORETTO, Pa. — The following area students graduated from Saint Francis University:

  • Rachael Butz of Chambersburg, Pa., received a marketing degree.
  • Brittany Chmelik of Thurmont, Md., received a social work degree.
  • Ryan Coccagna of Chambersburg received an accounting degree.
  • Brittany Kline of Waynesboro, Pa., received a health science degree.
  • Daniel Rosko of Waynesboro received a physician assistant science master’s degree.
  • Meredith Schellhase of Waynesboro, received a physician assistant science master’s degree.
  • Laura Smith of State Line, Pa., received a physician assistant science master’s degree.
  • Tyler Straub of Chambersburg, received a management degree.


SALISBURY, Md. — Julie Ann Calandrelle, a senior at Salisbury University, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester. It marked the sixth straight time she was named to the dean’s list.

Calandrelle is a senior majoring in conflict analysis/dispute resolution with a minor in English.

She is the daughter of Trisha Ann Calandrelle of Martinsburg, W.Va., and William Calandrelle of Falling Waters, W.Va.


SEWARD, Neb. — The following area students were named to the honors list for the second semester at Concordia University:

  • Joshua Allwardt of Frederick, Md.
  • Ruth Krc of Frederick


MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Christopher E. Heim graduated cum laude with bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering on May 12 from West Virginia University.

Heim is a 2007 graduate of Boonsboro High School.

He is the son of Ed and Janet Heim of Hagerstown.



TOWSON, Md. — Zachary McGee was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Towson University.

He is a 2011 graduate of Boonsboro High School.

He is the son of Jeff McGee and Dr. Kristine Easterday McGee of Keedysville.



WINCHESTER, Va. — Kelsey Smith of Williamsport was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Shenandoah University.

She is majoring in nursing in the School of Health Professions.



TOWSON, Md. — Kelsey Jarvis of Hagerstown was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Towson University.

Kelsey is studying elementary education.

She is a 2010 graduate of South Hagerstown High School.

Kelsey is the daughter of Jim Jarvis and Patty Jarvis of Hagerstown.

 

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — Allyson Bowers of Smithsburg received the John L. and Cora I. Grove Scholarship at Shippensburg University.

She recently graduated from Smithsburg High School, where she was active in student government, the National Honor Society and the Math National Honor Society.

She plans to major in finance.

She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Bowers of Smithsburg.



COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Robert Lee Wolfe III graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in English language and literature.

He received an honors citation from the university and a transcript notation from the Jimenez-Porter Writer’s House.

Wolfe will pursue his Master of Arts in English language and literature beginning in the fall at Georgetown University. He has been awarded a fellowship in the university’s Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship.

Wolfe is a 2008 graduate of Grace Academy.

He is the son of Robert and Sue Wolfe Jr. of Smithsburg, and the grandson of Ellis and Peggy Duffey and Robert and Elise Wolfe.



ELON, N.C. — Amanda Lauren Fiery was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Elon University.

Mandy is majoring in psychology, and minoring in exercise science.

She is a 2011 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.

She is the daughter of Doug and Julie Fiery.



BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — The following area students received degrees from West Virginia Wesleyan in May after completing degree requirements during the spring semester:

  • Emily Ahalt of Boonsboro, summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in public relations/English
  • Garrett Heck of Martinsburg, W.Va., cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in biology
  • Danielle Mullins of Gerrardstown, W.Va., Bachelor of Arts in international studies-sociology
  • Morgan O’Brien of Hedgesville, W.Va., Bachelor of Science in biology
