Fire at Dollar Tree store quickly extinguished

HALFWAY — Firefighters were called to the Dollar Tree store at 11305 Massey Blvd. in Halfway when a small fire started in the bathroom Tuesday morning.

Drew DeHaven, assistant fire chief of the Volunteer Fire Co. of Halfway, said firefighters put out the fire with water from a hose shortly after they arrived.

DeHaven said the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office was called to investigate the cause.

Dollar Tree employees said at the scene that they weren’t allowed to comment.

The fire was reported at 11:39 a.m.
