Cynthia Lou “Cindy” (Russell) Caron, 62, of 11641 Nottingham Lane, Waynesboro, Pa., entered into eternal rest at 8:55 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, at Chambersburg Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.

Born April 22, 1950, in Pigeon-Huron, Mich., she was the daughter of the late George W. and Ida Rose (Lee) Russell.

Cindy and her family lived her early life in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and Mexico City, Mexico. Her family lived for a time in Hagerstown, Md., where she was a 1968 graduate of North Hagerstown High. She eventually made Waynesboro her home and lived at her present residence since 1988.

Following high school, Cindy worked in the payroll department at Grove Manufacturing, which was also her father’s employer. Later in life, she worked in data processing with Citicorp and First Data, both in Hagerstown. She was last employed as a senior manager with Global Payments of Owings Mills, Md.

Cindy truly enjoyed and was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed family trips to Maine, Myrtle Beach, Ocean City, Florida and the cabin. She loved reading, playing cards, People magazine crossword puzzles, and was a regular at her children and grandchildren’s local sporting events. Cindy enjoyed cooking and regularly prepared Sunday family dinners, which were coordinated with the Redskins football schedule.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Michael E. “Mike” Caron of Waynesboro; daughter, Renee E. Britton and husband Eric, Middletown, Md.; sons, Christopher M. “Chris” Caron and Scott P. Caron and wife, Jennifer “Jen,” both of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Carlyn N. Caron, Madison E. Britton, Bryce M. McCabe, Ella C. Caron, Alex M. Britton and Tyler L. Caron; sisters, Chloe Silliven, Venice, Fla., Susan Ponting-McKnight, Wadsworth, Ohio, Jennifer Whiting, Bell, Fla., Lauren Kelly, Trabuco Canyon, Calif., and Shelly Walters, Yuba City, Calif.; and brother, Danny Russell, Murrells Inlet, S.C.; numerous nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with the Rev. John B. Bateman as celebrant.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contribution be made to Chambersburg Hospital Cath Lab Department or the Rehab Unit, c/o Development Office, 176 S. Coldbrook Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
