AARP driver course available to educators

AARP and the Washington County Commission on Aging has announced the AARP Driver Safety’s 2012 Educator Appreciation program.

Starting July 1, all current and retired educators and school personnel are eligible to take the AARP driver safety classroom course for $5. Class dates and locations are as follows.

Thursday, July 19 — Somerford Assisted Living, 10114 Sharpsburg Pike, Hagerstown,  1 to 5 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 21 — Fahrney-Keedy Retirement Village, 8507 Mapleville Road, Boonsboro, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The program is offered to those individuals who have been an educator, or have worked for a school district or university in any capacity. To redeem the $5 class offer, call the commission on aging and ask for Judy Brewer. The regular class fee is $12 per person for AARP members and $14 per person for nonmembers.
