Ruben Leroy “Pete” Mills, 87, of National Pike in Clear Spring, Md., passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown, Md.
Born Jan. 2, 1925, in Mooresville, Md., he was the son of the late Charles Albert Mills and Sarah Belle Reed Mills.
He was employed by Fairchild Aircraft, retiring after 35 years of service, and also helped build homes with his brothers.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II.
He is survived by his companion of 35 years, Helen Stonebreaker of Clear Spring; three stepsons, Charles W. Stonebreaker Jr. and wife, Robin, of Williamsport, Terry A. Stonebreaker and wife, Alice, of Ijamsville, Md., and Michael E. Stonebreaker and friend, Patti, of Hagerstown; two sisters, Helen Randall of Hagerstown and Mary Grove of Clear Spring; two brothers, Frank Mills and Bill Crilley, both of Pecktonville; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
