Editor’s note: Each Monday, The Herald-Mail will highlight an infrastructure issue or other problem and will try to find out what is being done to fix or improve the situation. We will not tackle situations involving neighborhood or domestic disputes, or consumer problems.

The problem: Someone anonymously mailed a screen grab of Washington County Free Library’s website, where a message says: “***ALERT*** Bookmobile service is temporarily suspended at all stops due to mechanical issues.”
The anonymous writer asked, “What is wrong with the bookmobile? This msg has been on website for months.”

Who could fix it: Washington County Free Library

What they say: Amanda Bena, the manager of the library’s bookmobile department, said Friday that the bookmobile had a mechanical problem and has been out of service for about six weeks. She said a mechanic is fixing the bookmobile, which is expected to be back on the road by early July.
