Helen Greiner Tracy, 88, of Hagerstown, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012, at her residence, while under the care of her husband, Ralph A. Tracy, and Hospice of Washington County.
Born Jan. 27, 1924, in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Adelia May (Clopper) Greiner and Herbert Greiner.
Helen was a 1942 graduate of Hagerstown High school. She also attended Columbia Business College. She was a 1949 graduate of Parsons School for Design in New York City, where she studied fashion illustration.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ralph; sister, Priscilla Greiner of Williamsport, Md.; brother, Herbert Greiner Jr., of Amarillo, Texas; son, Lee; and daughter, Ellen T. Ashby; and grandson, Eamonn, all of Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen was a talented watercolor artist. Her paintings have been exhibited in Maryland and Ohio.
Helen was also employed for nine years as an ESOL teacher (English Speaking and Other Languages) by Washington County schools.
There will be no visitation. A private family memorial will be held at a future date.
