During the recent Memorial Day observance, Trinity Lutheran Church offered a Litany for Veterans. Many veterans in the congregation wore their uniforms to church on May 27.

The service was held to honor those who sacrificed their lives in defense of our country.

Fundraiser held to benefit St. Jude

Mount Nebo Christian Preschool recently held a trikeathon to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Participants pedaled their hearts out for a great cause.

Vacation Bible school

Mount Nebo UMC, at 134 S. Main St., will host a vacation Bible school with the theme “Dare to Go Deep With God” from Monday, June 18, to Friday, June 22, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. 

Those ages 2 to 12 are invited to attend. 

United Methodist Women will provide a free dinner each night for participants from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Vacation bible school set for July 8 -13

Boonsboro Bible Church is also hosting a vacation Bible school this year.  “Backstage with the Bible — A Vacation Bible School Experience,” will run July 8 to July 13, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the church, 6741 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. 

It will include games, crafts, snacks, Bible lessons, karaoke and a concert. 

Attendance each night includes an entry into a drawing for  prizes.

Class of 1982

The Boonsboro High School Class of 1982 will hold its 30-year reunion Saturday, Sept. 8, on the Spirit of Baltimore Dinner Cruise at Baltimore Inner Harbor.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Renaissance Hotel in the Inner Harbor.

To raise funds for the reunion, the class will hold a bonanza at the Boonsboro American Legion on Saturday, July 14.  Doors will open at 5 p.m.  Tickets cost $40 each (couple or single). Every 20th ticket will receive $40 and the last ticket drawn will receive $500. There will also be raffles, 50/50, and auctions.

Class of 1977

The BHS Class of 1977 will hold a reunion planning meeting Tuesday, June 19, at 6 p.m. at Battleview Market on Sharpsburg Pike, which is owned by classmate Peggy (Burgan) Myers.

The reunion is planned for Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Elks Lodge.
