Gloria Lee Clevenger, 81, of Hagerstown, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012, with her sons by her side, at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Born June 16, 1930, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Hillard and Kathryn (McAllister) Staley.
She was a 1948 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
She was married to Glenn Clevenger for 39 years until he preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 1990.
She also spent many happy years with friend and companion, Raymond Hewitt, until his death in 2009.
Gloria was employed at Pangborn Corporation, and retired in 1995.
She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling in the Wednesday and Thursday night leagues with her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Phil Clevenger and wife, Donna, of Hagerstown, and John Clevenger and wife, Brenda, of Chambersburg, Pa.; a sister, Jean Hill of Hagerstown; sister-in-law, Jane Staley of Prescott, Ariz.; a brother-in-law, Mick Forcino of Hagerstown; three grandchildren, Lynn Clevenger and Brandy Clevenger, and Mitchell Clevenger, who has been in her loving care for the last four years; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Hilda Trovinger, Betty Keller and Jo Ann Forcino; and three brothers, George, John and Dick Staley.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, June 15, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Kenneth Fizer Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
