Emma Ellen Cornell, 97, of Martinsburg, W.Va., went to be with the Lord, on Monday, June 11, 2012, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born Nov. 24, 1914, in Boonsboro, Md., she was the daughter of the late Clarence I. and Mary E. Green Moser.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Cornell, in 1970.

She was a member of First Christian Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary J. Manspeaker and her husband, Richard, and Denice E. Cortez and her husband, Augie; two sisters, Anna L. Bywaters and Lenora E. McClanathan; a brother, Charles E. Moser; and two grandchildren, Matthew Manspeaker and his wife, Yvonne, and Amanda Manspeaker; and an extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry J. Moser and Claude W. Moser; and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Manspeaker.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers who showed Emma compassion, respect, and love throughout her extended illness.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Md. The Rev. G. David Shreeves will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral.
