Edgar Maurice Foltz Jr., 83, of Williamsport Pike, Greencastle, Pa., departed to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Quincy Village, Quincy, Pa.

Born July 7, 1928, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Edgar M. Foltz Sr. and Margaret B. Bailey Foltz.

He was a 1947 graduate of Hagerstown High School. He attended Hagerstown Junior College.

He served in the U.S. Armyduring the Korean War from 1950 to 1952.

He retired in 1991 fromMack Trucks Inc.after 29 years of service, working part of that time in quality control and the last seven years in shop control. After retirement from Mack, he worked part time at Martin’s Food Market in Hagerstown as a customer courtesy clerk.

He loved God, his devoted wife, Imogene, and his neighbors. He dearly loved his nine children, and other family members and fellow saints.

Edgar was a member of the Church of God of Mercersburg, Pa., where he taught Sunday school, served as trustee for 12 years, and also served as a choir member and special singer into his senior years.

He wrote toThe Herald-Mailfor decades about current issues and loved to witness for his Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Imogene Marie Morris Foltz; three daughters, Linda Sue Ogden and husband, Jim, of Chambersburg, Pa., Jody Ann Bishop and husband, Jeffrey, of Hagerstown, and Jeannie Marie Foltz of Greencastle, Pa.; six sons, Stephen Lynn Foltz and wife, Michelle, of Gresham, Ore., Richard Nelson Foltz and wife, Myra, of Greencastle, Gregory Allen Foltz of Fort Bragg, Calif., James Edward Foltz and wife, Chrisy, of Fayetteville, Pa., David Brian Foltz of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Mark Anthony Foltz of Waynesboro, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Nancy Oden of New Albany, Ind.; two stepsons, Matthew Welch of New Albany and Jean-Paul Dusseault and wife, Susan, of Eugene, Ore.; a brother, Robert Edward Foltz Sr. and wife, Masako, of Hagerstown; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his second wife, Marlene Alberta Dusseault Foltz, on May 16, 1996; a son, Douglas Edgar Foltz; and one sister, Janice E. Foltz Holden.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Church of God of Mercersburg. Pastor David L. Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Graveside honors will be conducted by Washington County AMVETS Post 10 and Marine Corps League of Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Tuesday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, from 7 to 9 p.m.
