Salem Avenue Elementary School recently recognized 32 students who earned perfect attendance for the entire 2011/2012 school year. The students were rewarded for their accomplishments with a pizza party, certificates and perfect attendance T-shirts.

Hagerstown mayoral debate Thursday

The Citizens for Protection of Washington County will sponsor a mayoral debate between incumbent Robert E. Bruchey and challenger David S. Gysberts at the Western Enterprise Fire Co. meeting and bingo hall at 526 Washington Square, Hagerstown on Thursday, beginning at 7 p.m.

The forum is open to the public, and questions will be taken from the audience.

The Citizens for Protection of Washington County is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection and preservation of the natural, historic and agricultural heritage of Washington County.

It also serves as a watchdog of government expenditures and supports fiscal responsibility and prudent use of tax dollars.  

South High alumni schedule event at Cancun Cantina

South Hagerstown High School’s Rebel Alumni Association will sponsor an informal alumni gathering on Friday, June 15 at the Cancun Cantina, 901 Dual Highway, Hagerstown.


Class and staff members from all classes are welcome.  Admission is free.
