Hagerstown seeks buildings with curb appeal

June 06, 2012

The Hagerstown Beautification Advisory Committee (HBAC) will recognize residents and businesses that have contributed extra time and care in boosting the curb appeal of their properties. Nominations for the annual Highlight Hagerstown Awards are being accepted now through Friday, July 27.

The HBAC is looking for various beautification projects, but all the improvements must be visible from public streets. For example, upgrades to landscaping and trees, window boxes, flower beds and gardens, additional fencing and façade improvements would all be considered changes that would boost a property's curb appeal.

The HBAC would like the public's help in finding these projects and to see that the people behind them are recognized for their hard work in beautifying the community.

You can nominate a resident, a business or even yourself. Properties must be located within the limits of the City of Hagerstown.

Nomination forms can be found online at www.hagerstownmd.org.

Winners will be selected by the HBAC and recognized by the mayor and City Council during their regular session in late August.
