Mrs. Sonja L. (DeHart) Yoder, 72, of 143 Camelot Drive in Chambersburg, Pa., died Sunday, June 3, 2012, at 7:50 a.m. at Manorcare Health Services in Chambersburg. She had been in failing health since February. 

Born Jan. 11, 1940, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Rhoda (Kauffman) Wagaman.

Mrs. Yoder was a graduate of Quincy High School. Following high school, she received training to become a certified nursing assistant. 

She and her first husband, the late Mr. Kenneth E. Baker, were married in December 1957. He passed away May 24, 1989. She and her second husband, Mr. Lee Yoder, were married Sept. 26, 1995. 

Mrs. Yoder worked most of her life at South Mountain Restoration Center as a certified nursing assistant. She retired early to care for her first husband. Following his death, she was employed as a nurse’s assistant by Quincy Village for a number of years.

She was a member of South Mountain Bible Church, in Fayetteville, Pa.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her five children, Lisa Baker Green and her husband, James, of Beartown, Pa., Lance Baker and his special friend, Lori Lewis, of Smithsburg, Md., Jeff Yoder and his wife, Jane, of Greencastle, Pa., Todd Yoder and his wife, Nicole, of Chambersburg, and Cathy Yoder Fogelsonger and her husband, Jeremy, of Mont Alto, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; a great-grandchild due in July; two brothers, Hiram Wagaman and Herbert Wagaman, both of South Mountain; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George DeHart and Anthony Wagaman.

Services will be Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at 11 a.m. at South Mountain Bible Church, 11275 South Mountain Road, Fayetteville, with Pastor William Gray and the Rev. David Keener officiating. Burial will follow in Strang’s Cemetery, South Mountain.

The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour before services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to South Mountain Bible Church, 11275 South Mountain Road, Fayetteville, PA 17222.
