Now that the school year has come to a close, there is a bit of business to tidy up.

The South Hagerstown High School Alumni Association has named the recipients of its scholarships.
Congratulations and best wishes in their future endeavors as they continue their education at the next level.

Already committed to Towson to study nursing is Kaitlyn Nicole Spangler. Joining Kaitlyn at Towson is Stephanie Swope. Sarah Bjerga and Lauren Fahrney plan to attend Hagerstown Community College and then transfer to four-year schools. Teri Keller will be heading to the East Coast to study at Salisbury University and Umar Mahmood has yet to commit to which university he will attend.

Congratulations on your scholarship awards and recognition for all of your hard work. Keep it up and watch your successes grow.

U.S. Air Force brass ensemble to perform

Looking for some summer fun that is free and doesn't involve sunblock?

On Thursday, the U.S. Air Force Heritage Brass Ensemble will perform at the Hagerstown Community College amphitheater at 6:30 p.m. There is no charge and the concert should prove to be quite delightful.

Enjoy the week

The weather appears to be mild and pleasant. Until next week, be safe.
