HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. — People in a river-rafters crew helped a person who became stranded in water near the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers Sunday afternoon, according to a Washington County 911 dispatcher.
The person was apparently riding in a boat when he became stranded on a rock at about 5:22 p.m., the dispatcher said.
The river-rafting crew helped the male get to an area where he could be checked out by medical crews, but he refused treatment, the dispatcher said.
