It's been nearly 30 years since Ben Jones, 72, gave up his signature trucker hat and mechanic's shirt with cut-off sleeves as Cooter Davenport on the fan-favorite "The Dukes of Hazzard."

Although Jones' life post-"Dukes" has taken him to places that Cooter wouldn't have believed, the Virginia-based actor, author, musician and politician hasn't turned his back on his TV kinfolk.

As part of Hagerstown Speedway's Dukes Family Night, Jones will sign autographs and be available for photos from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 9. Gates open at 3 p.m. Race begins at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $5. The General Lee will also be at the speedway.

Jones and his TV counterpart shared a similar interests: cars, trucks and hard work.
