Driver taken to hospital after two-vehicle crash in Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN — One person was take to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident Thursday morning at the intersection of West Antietam and South Walnut streets, Officer Chris Barnett of the Hagerstown Police Department said.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident involving a Ford F-150 pickup truck and a car, Barnett said.

The driver of the car was taken to Meritus Medical Center, Barnett said.

The car had front-end damage and its airbags were deployed. It was towed from the intersection at 9:22 a.m.

The pickup truck was able to be driven from the scene.

The intersection was closed immediately following the accident, but reopened at 9:35 a.m.

The Hagerstown Police Department was still on the scene at 9:40 a.m., A firetruck from Antietam Fire Co. was also on the scene but has since left.
