Albert Lee Sharer Sr., 79, of Clear Spring, Md., passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at his home.
Born June 26, 1932, in Beaver Creek, Md., he was the son of the late Arthur Charles and Frances Pearl Baker Sharer.
He was employed by Chemical Leaman Tank Lines, Hagerstown, Md., for 33 years until his retirement.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Clarence Armstrong Post 624, Mercersburg, Pa., and Teamsters Local 992, Hagerstown.
Survivors include son, Albert Lee Sharer Jr. of Williamsport; daughter, Cynthia L. Sharer and her friend, Terry Burleson, of Clear Spring; partner of 25 years, Mary A. Schindel of Clear Spring; caregiver, Carolyn Thomas of Mercersburg; brother, Ezra C. Sharer of Pinesburg, Md.; sister, Pearl Shank of Williamsport; step-grandson, Daniel Kelley and his family; and step-granddaughters, Amber Michael, Kaitlyn Writt and Amanda Trevino.
He was predeceased by one sister, Irene Mitchell; and one brother, Arthur Sharer.
The family will receive friends at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, on Friday, June 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. Friday for the convenience of family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport, on Saturday, June 2, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Ernest E. Witmer officiating.
