Website designer presents information to town officials

HANCOCK — Hancock town officials, who are considering developing a town website, heard a presentation from a website designer during the May 9 town council meeting.

Dave Henneberger said he believes it is important to use attractive photographs for a website, like one he recently designed for the town of Smithsburg.

Henneberger estimated it would cost the town between $2,500 and $3,000 to have a website.

Town Manager David D. Smith said a website could be set up in such a way that town residents could pay town bills at the site.

Foreclosed homes need grass mowed

HANCOCK — Thirty-three houses that have been foreclosed on in Hancock are in need of grass mowing, said David D. Smith, Hancock’s town manager.

Smith said during the May 9 council meeting that the town’s cost for mowing the properties this summer will be included in liens on the properties.
