Classic car cruise-in to benefit Kahlil

The First-Friday Classic Car Cruise-in will be Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. on Potomac Street in Williamsport.

Music will be by the band Chubby. There will also be door prizes and 50/50s.

A donation of $3 is requested. The event benefits Kahlil Butler, the 12-year-old grandson of River City barber Donna Himes. Kahlil is a leukemia patient at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he is receiving chemotherapy.

The rain date is June 8.

Rehoboth UMC Street Fair is Saturday

Everyone is invited to the street fair on East Salisbury Street on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., sponsored by Rehoboth United Methodist Church.

Everything is free: food and drinks, games, yard sale items, M-chip child identification, and lots more fun for all ages.

Leathernecks to sponsor poker run

The Leathernecks Nation Motorcycle Club will hold its second annual poker run to benefit the Williamsport Food Bank on Saturday, June 9. Registration will be from noon to 2 p.m. at Williamsport American Legion Post 202.

Williamsport UMC plans Myrtle Beach trip

Williamsport United Methodist Church is sponsoring a trip to Myrtle Beach from Sept. 17 to 21. The package includes three shows, four nights lodging, four breakfasts, four full-course dinners, guided tour of Charleston, S.C., and other activities. Transportation will be by motor coach.

The cost is $468 per person (double occupancy).

Downsville Ruritan carnival returns

The carnival sponsored by the Downsville Ruritan Club returns to Byron Memorial Park on Monday, June 11, through Saturday, June 16. There will be food, bingo and amusement rides.

Ride all night with an advanced amusement ride armband, good for any night (one night only). Advanced armbands cost $10 each. They can be purchased during regular business hours at Williamsport Town Hall, G.A. Miller Lumber Co., Downsville General Store and P&S Equipment in Marlowe, W.Va., until Sunday, June 10.

Armbands will cost $16 each at the gate.

Vendors invited for C&O Canal Days

On Aug. 25 and 26, from Byron Memorial Park to the river, the expanded Chesapeake & Ohio Canal Days will have something for everyone — artizans, crafts, artists, children’s activities, canal boat rides and other activities.

Clothes of Hope schedule

Clothes of Hope Ministries at Williamsport United Methodist Church, 25 E. Church St., provides gently used and some new clothing. It will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 2; Monday, June 4; and Thursday, June 7 and 28. It will be open from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 11 and 18; and Thursday, June 14.

There is no charge for clothing. Monetary donations are accepted.

Gently-used, clean, spring and summer clothing donations are being accepted when Clothes of Hope is open. The ministry cannot accept underwear, sleepwear or socks.
