Catherine Rhuie Jones, 94, of Clear Spring, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown, Md.

Born Jan. 29, 1918, in Clear Spring, Md., she was the daughter of the late James Oliver Faith and Nellie Mae Trumpower Faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Cecil Raymond Jones Sr., in 1978.

Catherine was a member of Mount Tabor Lutheran Church and Mercersburg Moose Lodge 830. She retired from Offray Co. after 25 years of service.

She was a very loving, caring and giving person to all of her family and community.

She is survived by three daughters, Jean Bowers and husband, Fred, of Big Pool, Md., June Yeakle and late husband, Robert, of Clear Spring, and Krista Fisher and husband, Roger, of Mercersburg, Pa.; two brothers, Cecil “Buzz” Jones and wife, Jean, of Hagerstown, and Randy Jones and wife, Kimberly, of Mercersburg; one sister, Rita Clark of Clear Spring; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nellie Marie Timmons; three sisters, Hazel Repp, Mildred Faith and Charlotte Ingream; five brothers, Fred Faith, Guy Faith, Glenn Faith, Earl Faith and Carl Faith; a granddaughter, Kathy Timmons; and a grandson, Fred Bowers Jr.

Services will be Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, 14615 Fairview Church Road, Clear Spring. The Revs. Allen Reed and Ron Faith will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring. For the convenience of friends, you may visit the funeral home after noon.
